Today we spent some time with an African artist, Chief Okey, we looked at drawing still life using water colours - drawing what we see not what we think! At first some of us found it a struggle but by the end of the session we had all created a masterpiece - see what you think below!!
We were very excited to have a visit from the Multi Zulu Nation drama group and we had lots of fun watching them perform their routines and teach us a special dance!
As part of our Multi-faith week, we have studied all about Islam. Today was a very special day as we were very lucky to have Imran, an Imam, in school to teach us all about the faith of Islam. We did lots of different activities and learnt ALOT - all while having fun!!!
Today Year 5 have certainly brightened up our classroom! Well done for the effort made and for taking part in such wonderful fundraising for CAFOD's 'Brighten up the harvest'.
Today we have been very lucky to have been visited by a Brazilian native who has come into school to help us learn about the culture of Brazil as part of our first topic.
We started the session in the classroom where we learnt lots of facts about Brazil and Adrianna told us all about her life when she was growing up in Sao Paulo - she told us that she moved over to England many years ago and that she has brought her love of Brazilian culture with her. She often works with the carnivals, creating costumes and dances etc.
We then moved from the classroom to the hall where Adrianna taught us some dance routines - this was great fun - have a look at the video clips!!
Adrianna had also brought some costumes in that have been wore in festivals - bright, big and beautiful!
Overall we had a fantastic morning with Adrianna!
